Build a Better A27 – Western Manhood Community Workshop

Friday 14th July 2017 5.30pm – 7.00pm
Bracklesham Barn, Beech Avenue, Bracklesham, PO20 8HU

The Community Workshop is your opportunity to have your say regarding the way forward with the A27.

Representatives of Earnley Parish Council, East Wittering & Bracklesham Parish Council, West Wittering Parish Council, West Itchenor Parish Council and Birdham Parish Council recently met to deliberate the factors that affect the residents on the western Manhood Peninsula.

Listed below is the result of this discussion, and this meeting is your opportunity to discuss and rank the items in the order of importance, 1 being the most important and 5 being the least important.

  • Acceptable to the greatest number of people
  • Separate through traffic from local traffic
  • Minimise negative impact on the landscape and natural habitat
  • Minimise disruption for businesses, agricultural and tourism
  • No adverse effect to local journey times and ease of access for local traffic to and from the A27 and Chichester/Manhood Peninsula
  • Provision of a suitable diversion route to ensure resilience of the Strategic Network
  • Take account of major events and beach traffic
  • A long-term solution, not a short-term fix

Any other positives ideals would be welcome
