At the Parish Council Meeting held on 11th September 2017 during the Public Session representatives spoke to outline a potential redevelopment at the Itchenor Memorial Hall.
Various scenarios for the possible funding of the works to be carried out at the Itchenor Memorial Hall were put forward. This included funding from a local charitable trust or trusts, an approach to local residents for individual donations and the possibility of a ‘Public Works Loan Board’ application through the Parish Council as suggested by ‘Action in Rural Sussex’.
The Parish Council was unable to have any meaningful discussion, or take any decision for a number of reasons.
Firstly, the Parish Council is not able to make decisions on matters that are not itemised on the meetings Agenda. Secondly, the Itchenor Memorial Hall has not put forward any firm proposals for the Parish Council to consider.
The Parish Council will not be having any further discussions on the issue of assisting the Itchenor Memorial Hall with funding for its redevelopment project unless and until it receives a formal request from the IMH Committee. Should such a request be received then the Parish Council will make residents aware of this at the time.
